Does multiple-book reading mean a reader is inconclusive?<\/p>\n

This is a question I ask myself every time I look at my night table, where I constantly stack at least 4-5 books at a time…
\nAnd I swear I read them all!
\nMaybe it takes me 4 years to finish a book (kidding…but one year is a good average time).
\nI read almost every night and I pick a book depending on my mood or my expectations.<\/p>\n

The curious thing about this is that I rarely read novels, but this is a trend I have been experiencing for a few years, whereas in the past I used to mainly read one novel at a time – and just novels.<\/p>\n

I think this has something to do with my job: as an interpreter, I am used to study different subjects every week or however, to rapidly switch from a given topic to a totally different one…and I am afraid this affected my way of reading books too.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, I tend to read books that can provide me with useful information or knowledge, rather than just giving me a thrill or relaxing me with a wonderful story > I know, this is nerd.<\/p>\n

Is this another interpreter’s nerdity? (like this one) <\/a><\/p>\n

I thought it was odd when I first started doing this, but now I actually think it’s an interesting habit.<\/p>\n
